I can't believe we have been off the road for a full week.We feel so lucky to have ended up here in Angel Fire. Everything around us is new, and every day presents an opportunity to see or do something we've never done. We are becoming quite familiar with the local market and Family Dollar Store. It feels nice to be getting involved with the community and sticking around long enough to remember people's names again. We take note of the small things.I feel beyond thankful for and during every hot shower within a room's walk away. Being able to have a reliable place to wash clothes each week has turned into something I look forward to. I embrace washing dishes in the sink, knowing that public water access isn't easy to come by. And every time we pass another van, I get it. If and when the opportunity arises for us to reach out and help someone living on the road, we will. And I miss it. I am thankful for the closeness our family was able to spend together on our grand yesterday for home. And it brings me joy to look out the window and still swee our home on wheels. Now is a time for rest, work, art, and stability, and we are totally welcoming of it.
And we still have fun.Collin loves his new job, which makes me so happy and relieved to be here. I am so proud of him for not giving up in his search and for knowing his worth. Though he felt disheartened at times, he never once gave up on trying to find a position that not only fulfilled him but appreciated him as a human being. Just a month ago, we were here feeling homesick and lost.
