We started the weekend off with a fire and a couple pumpkins that needed a good carvin'. Inspired by the place where it all began, I could not resist carving the outline of the Tetons in the decorative squash. The following day, we took a trip to Doe River Gorge to see the leaves changing colors and let the dogs frolick in the river. Bonfires. Parties. Bar Costume Contests. We opted out of the skanky costume scene this year to embrace the Saturday night power outage with our 3 pups at home in the shed. Electricity abandoned us for 5 hours, and we thought The Purge had become a reality and neighborhood clowns would be terrorizing the streets at any given time. Dobby tip-toed around under the stars as Monty and Taco hunkered down in their safe blanket-filled crates. Later, we lit a few candles and cuddled up on this chilly night while telling old stories and enjoying each other's company during the absence of our electric amenities. Sunday, Hallow's Eve, we took a road-trip to Great Smoky National Park to see Appalachia's leaves peak in an array of vibrant fall hues. Collin stood atop Clingman's Dome, Tennessee's highest point at 6,643 ft above elevation, for the first time. We ended the day splitting a rack of ribs and returning to basecamp to settle in with the fur gang. Happy Halloween! #SHEDLIFE
