After 6-ish months of anticipation and feeling like the van would never be road ready, we are finally on the road. And holy cow, a lot has gone down in only a few days. We visited fam & friends near Detroit for a couple weeks and after more than a few sad "see ya laters," we pointed our tires to the Upper Peninsula. On the way up, we dipped our toes (and whole selves) in Lake Michigan where we learned that Olin is not a fan of sand.
We camped in a Dollar General parking lot where we woke up to a stellar sunrise over Lake Huron. Coincidentally, we had landed right beside a 24-hour laundromat and public restroom.
Collin took us on a tour to Pictured Rocks and Miner's Falls where Lake Superior runs into a huge flowing waterfall with a hidden cave behind.
After being introduced to the grand Lake Superior, Collin took us to a sweet college town that he spent 3 years living in, Marquette, Michigan. We are still here exploring, and boy Gerorge- it's a beaut!
P.S. We cooked in the van for the first time this morning, it rocks. Oh, and our first laundry mat shindig.
